GITP – TIP
Improve the customer experience and design new functionalities and products for the Talent Intelligence Platform
GITP is the specialist in providing insight into talent and the development potential of people, teams, and organisations. They do this by optimally combining advisers’ knowledge and experience with the digital tools they’ve developed.
HR professionals, managers, participants, and advisors work together on the Talent Intelligence Platform to select new employees, map talent and show what development opportunities people have in-house. The Talent Intelligence Platform makes it easier to choose, compile and plan assessments.
Request
GITP’s demand was very diverse and large. The Talent Intelligent Platform (TIP) was in full development, the demand for new functionalities was high and there was no UX designer involved. As a result there was a big need of a design vision. The user flow had to be optimized, new features had to be designed and the corporate identity had to be implemented. This made it a very fun and divers assignment.
Taking the design process and the Talent Intelligent Platform to the next level
My role
As the only UX designer within the organization, I primarily worked on Interaction and UI design, setting up a design system and stakeholder management.
Activities
Design vision
With the Project management, Product development, Analytics & Innovation and development teams as stakeholders I created the design vision. When completed I rolled it out to the product organization.
Design system
To optimize the design and development process and safeguard the implementation of the corporate identity and design vision, there was a need for a future-proof design system. While setting up the design system, already small improvements to the UX could be implemented. It also became clear how the SaaS components could be optimised to make TIP future proof.
UX/UI design
Created responsive and detailed designs for the development team. The online dashboards (SaaS) have been redesigned and design patterns where implemented. Great new features and products were added.
UX/UI awareness
Close contact with the stakeholders and the development team created more awareness of UI and UX design. This resulted in improvement of the design an development flow. And, more important, the user flow for both customers who want to request an assessment, the participants of the tests and the GITP advisers could be taken to a higher level.
Prototyping
The prototypes I created in cooperation with the Product development, Analytics and Innovation team were used to validate the new dashboards and products with the customers.
Accessibility check
Check if the TIP platform meets the WCAG 2.1 standards. Set up a plan and prioritise improvements to meet this standards.
Stakeholder interviews
Discover needs of the customers and customer support and validate assumptions about TIP.
Feasibility check
Check with Technical Lead whether proposed solutions are feasible.
Design check
Checked the implemented design and tested the functionalities in the test, acceptance and production environment.
Outcome
To optimize the design and development process and safeguard the implementation of the corporate identity and, there was a need for a future-proof design system and a design vision. While setting up the design system, already small improvements to the UX could be implemented. It also became clear how components could be optimised to make TIP future proof.
“With the implementation of a design system TIP has made a big progress in becoming future proof”
The assignment lasted almost a year. During this year, the online reports have been redesigned, more design patterns where designed and implemented and a big step has been made to implement a design system and corporate identity. Great new features and products were added. Close contact with the stakeholders and the development team created more awareness of UI and UX design. This resulted in improvement of the design an development flow. And, more imporant, the user flow for both customers who want to request an assessment, the participants of the tests and the GITP advisers could be taken to a higher level.
